What is the bridging period and when does it occur?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6e41f4c3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6e41f4c3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The bridging period occurs when:<\/p><ul><li>your visa or long-term residence permit is expiring,<\/li><li>you have submitted a new application on time (e.g. for visa extension or change of purpose),<\/li><li class=\"translation-block\">but the new decision has not yet been <strong>issued<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"translation-block\">In this case, the so-called <strong>fiction of stay on the territory<\/strong> comes into effect, as defined by Section 47, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Foreigners' Residence Act.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a546056 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"1a546056\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a348a47 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1a348a47\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. Fiction of stay: What does it exactly mean?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7732f0e4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7732f0e4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">If the application for a new type of residence or extension is submitted <strong>on time, in person, and complete<\/strong>, the so-called <strong>fiction of stay on the territory<\/strong> occurs. In practice, this means that:<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">\ud83d\udfe2 <strong>You can stay legally in the Czech Republic until the decision of the Ministry of the Interior.<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udd34 <strong>However, you should reconsider traveling abroad. Once you leave, the fiction ends, and returning to the Czech Republic will not be possible without a new visa.<\/strong><\/p><p>Employment during the fiction of stay is governed by the type of residence you have applied for \u2013 for example, if you are extending an employee card, you can continue working.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a830bc6 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"1a830bc6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42adcd67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"42adcd67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">3. Key conditions for protecting residence<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element truly protected, you must:<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">\u2705 Submit the application <strong>no later than the last day of validity of your current visa\/residence<\/strong>, ideally <strong>earlier than 90 days before its expiration<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><br>\u2705 Sign the application <strong>in person<\/strong> at the relevant office of the Ministry of the Interior.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><br>\u2705 Have <strong>all required documents<\/strong> \u2013 even a small deficiency can lead to the <strong>rejection<\/strong> of the application, which will cancel the fiction.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><br>\u2705 Keep the <strong>confirmation of application submission<\/strong> \u2013 the original with a stamp and signature, which will prove your residence status.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5a3a58d5 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\"
